Our Commitment to Child Safety
The recent incidents in the city related to child abuse have caused great concern with regard to child safety in institutions and society at large. The Principal and management of St. Francis School has devised a comprehensive Child Safety/Protection plan which includes a number of safety measures and guidelines for all students, parents, staff, and others associated with the school.
Student Safety Guidelines
Students are made aware of how to keep themselves safe through our comprehensive safety approach:
STOP IT!
Recognize unsafe situations and inappropriate behavior. Trust your instincts and know that you have the right to say "NO" to anything that makes you uncomfortable.
RUN!
Remove yourself from dangerous situations immediately. Get to a safe place where there are trusted adults who can help and protect you.
TELL!
Report any concerning incidents to a trusted adult immediately. Never keep unsafe secrets - telling helps protect you and others.
Student Responsibilities in Minimizing Risk:
- Protect themselves by resisting and removing themselves from harm
- Seek help from trusted adults when feeling unsafe
- Know and follow school safety rules and guidelines
- Report any suspicious behavior or incidents immediately
- Support classmates who may be experiencing difficulties
- Participate actively in safety awareness programs
