Our History

A Legacy of Franciscan Educational Excellence

Our Foundation & Mission

St. Francis School ICSE is part of a network of educational institutions administered by the Congregation of Franciscan Missionary Brothers, a religious order which runs schools and colleges in and around the country. St. Francis School ICSE is registered under the Society of Sevasadan Orphanage and Training Institute.

The Sevasadan Institute was established in the year 1968 to impart education to rural boys who are less privileged and school drop outs. In the year 1989, the Missionary Brothers opened an English Medium school to cater to the needs of the growing population of this area. Subsequently, an ICSE School, PU College and a Degree College came into existence.

Our Continuing Mission

Today, the Missionary Brothers continue their mission of running an orphanage, training institutions that impart non-formal technical training to school drop outs and economically challenged youth and orphans, a state of the art ICSE school, a Matriculation School, a PU College catering to value-based Higher education, and a Degree College cognizant of the growing, changing needs of a young, energetic youthful population ready to take off and contribute meaningfully to our country and the world around.

St. Francis School ICSE was established in the year 2000 with the intention of meeting the growing demands of society and its student body in its vicinity. Since its inception, the school aims at the moral, intellectual, social, psychological, and physical development of all pupils entrusted to its care, irrespective of their caste, creed, and religion.

1968

1989

The Missionary Brothers opened an English Medium school to cater to the needs of the growing population of this area.

2000

St. Francis School ICSE was established with the intention of meeting the growing demands of society and its student body in its vicinity.

2006

Obtained Provisional Affiliation from the CISCE Board, New Delhi.

2008

The first batch of ICSE (Class 10) appeared for the Board examination with cent percent results.

Milestone Achievement: 100% Pass Rate!
2011

Obtained Permanent Affiliation to the CISCE Board, New Delhi.

Official Recognition: Permanent CISCE Affiliation Secured

Rev. Bro. Jose Thuruthiyil (2000 -2006) The architect behind starting this institution was the former Principal, Rev. Bro. Jose. Under the leadership of Rev. Bro. Jose Thuruthiyil, the school progressed well. His contributions towards the growth of the school were immense. Highlights Secured the necessary permissions to start the school, affiliated to the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, from the year 2000 onwards. The school during its initial stages had classes from Nursery to Std. III with six staff members and 102 students. Obtained Provisional Affiliation from the CISCE Board, New Delhi in the year 2006 and later Permanent Affiliation in the year 2011.

Bro. Peter has been in the field of education for more than 25 years, and has served as Principal of various schools of the same Society in Mumbai, Andhra Pradesh and Bengaluru. Highlights President of Karnataka ICSE School Association [KISA] in the year 2008. Obtained Permanent Affiliation to the CISCE Board, New Delhi in the year 2011. Introduced activities, inter school competitions and conducted mega events. The first batch of ICSE (Class 10) appeared for the Board examination in the year 2008. Since the first batch till date the school has reaped a rich harvest in the Board Examinations with cent percent results which includes many distinctions.

Rev. Bro. Antony Vayalil, the present Principal has elevated St. Francis School to greater heights, be it in academics, sports, culturals or competitive exams. He has an eye for detail and perfection which is reflected in the school activities, inter school competitions and in the improvement of the school’s infrastructure. The sprawling campus of the above institutes brings an aura of a cosmopolitan environment of its own kind, where modern trends and traditions are amalgamated and supplemented, without any loss to each one’s identity. Highlights Tremendous growth in terms of academics as well as infrastructure facilities – an excellent and spacious school building, which houses a state of the art administration office, huge classrooms with smart boards, well-equipped Science, Mathematics and Computer laboratories, a well-stocked library, audio- visual rooms, a revamped staff room and Cup-O’-Joy cafeteria. Separate blocks for Primary and Pre-Primary sections with Children’s play area, a large playground with a grass field for football, concreted Basket Ball Court, a Cricket pitch etc Zonal Sports Incharge for CISCE Board.
